INTRODUCTION
The Mem.Med Association: Mediterranean Memory inaugurates today the monthly column Resistenze ai confini: storie di vita e di lotta tra Tunisia e Italia, with the publication of the introduction and the first story. This space for collective narration is part of the NoMore project: Monitoring Italian-Tunisian Border Practices, created in collaboration with Oxfam Italia.
The column was born as a writing and awareness-raising laboratory, a place where activists, members of Mem.Med and people on the move collaborate to collect and tell experiences lived at the borders.
Through a perspective that starts from the margin, Resistenze ai confini restores dignity and value to the lives of those who face the migratory journey, denouncing the systemic violence and injustices of border management policies. Thanks to the coordination of Ludovica Gualandi and the graphic design curated by Sofia Baraldo, the column benefits from the contribution of numerous authors: Anna Paola Ammirati, Bintou Toure, Francesca Mazzuzi, Giovanni Terraneo, Giuseppe Platania, Hajer Ayachi, Jalila Tamallah, Sara Biasci, Silvia Di Meo, Sofia Stimmatini, Valentina Delli Gatti, Waffo Soho Laundry and Yasmine Accardo. The heart of the project lies in the testimonies of people who, with courage and trust, have chosen to share their experiences.
Each month, these stories will be put at the center of a collective narrative that transforms borders from places of exclusion to spaces of listening, awareness and resistance.
